DIGITAL Durian is happy to announce the Arabic YouTube channel of its popular series co-produced with Astro, ‘Omar & Hana’, has recorded over 100,000 subscribers in six months following the launch of the channel in July 2020. With over 20 million hours of total watch-time, this achievement demonstrates the encouraging development of the Omar & Hana brand in the international arena.
Based on a survey conducted by Digital Durian to engage with parents of the 'Omar & Hana' fanbase, there is a demand for Islamic/faith-based content by parents in the MENA region. With this statistical data and UAE being one of the top 10 countries for the English YouTube channel of 'Omar & Hana', producing the series in Arabic to cater to the growing fanbase was the best next step.
There is also demand for the instrumental music used in the series to align with the cultural preferences in the United Arab Emirates. This approach is seen as a success based on the milestone reached for 'Omar & Hana’s' official Arabic YouTube channel.
Fadilah A. Rahman, producer of ‘Omar & Hana’ said, “We received an amazing response from the Arab audience for Omar & Hana in English and observed that there is a demand for our content to be in the Arabic language, especially from the MENA region. Thank you so much for supporting Omar & Hana in Arabic. We hope to continue to spread good values around the world through our show. Keep watching and don't forget to subscribe to our channel!”
Arabic 'Omar & Hana' videos are watched by children from more than 50 countries, with the top five countries consisting of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iraq, Egypt and Algeria. Arabic is the fourth language version of 'Omar & Hana' produced by Digital Durian, after Malay, English and Indonesian. Soon to join the list is the Urdu version.
The 'Omar & Hana' animated series airs on Astro Ceria every Friday, at 11am. All episodes of 'Omar & Hana' can be also streamed exclusively for Astro customers through the Astro GO app.
