DAP has condemned the death threat against its Seputeh MP Teresa Kok, claiming that such violence has no place in national politics.

Party secretary-general Anthony Loke said DAP is standing firmly behind Kok and praised police for their swift action.

“We condemn the death threat against DAP vice-president Teresa Kok. Such violence has no place in our country and we are in solidarity with Kok in this matter.”

“I would like to thank the police for their action as soon as the report was lodged,” he said.

It was reported today that Kok received a death threat via a letter sent to her house along with two bullets.

In a Facebook post, she said she found the letter and bullets inside her mailbox yesterday night, and lodged a report with police.

“I was checking my mailbox at my residence last night and I found an envelope with something heavy in it.

“When I opened it, I saw two bullets and a piece of paper. Written on it were the words ‘C*b*ilu Cina?!!! Lu Akan Mati!!! TUNGGU!!!’,” she said.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Isa confirmed receiving the report, saying that the case is being investigated under Section 507 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation by anonymous communication. – May 19, 2024.
