KUALA LUMPUR – Seven Perak DAP members have been stripped of their party membership after accepting positions offered by the ruling Perikatan Nasional.

It was reported that all of them accepted the post of Village Development and Security Development Committee (JPKK) chairman in their respective areas.

Malaysiakini named the seven as Wong Chee Ming, Choo Kok Cheng, Liew Kee Ho, Loh Kok Weng, Cheng Kai Meng, Khor Ah Lak and Wong Chee.

The party also ended the membership of Chan Fook Ching after it was found that he is the aide to Malim Nawar assemblyman Leong Cheok Keng.

Leong lost his membership on January 19 after being accused of being a member of MCA. He was one of three DAP reps who have left the party since the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan government in February last year.

In a statement today, DAP disciplinary committee chairman Chong Chieng Jen said party members are not allowed to take up positions offered by PN without express approval from the top leadership.

“Don’t sacrifice party integrity and self-respect for positions or personal benefits offered by PN.

“This is not only an act of treason to the party, but also a betrayal of the people.” – The Vibes, March 13, 2021
