A MECHANIC is selling his much-loved BMW E39 for RM18,000 to raise funds for his son's medical expenses.

According to reports in Harian Metro, Erwan Shah Mohd Asen, 43 from Felda Inai in Kulai said he was looking for serious buyers and needed the money as soon as possible.

He said his son, Muhammad Adif Zafran, 16, was suffering from stage one intestinal cancer and selling his car was the best option for now.

"My monthly income is unstable and I want to sell my car which I have had for the last five years," he said.

Apart from the medical bills and supporting his family, Erwan also pays for their monthly house rental.

"I initially bought the car for RM30,000, but am willing to sell it for RM18,000.

"The money will go towards my son's chemotherapy treatment which is estimated to cost about RM50,000," he said.

He said had since posted an advertisement on Facebook and had received numerous inquiries about the car.

On Muhammad Adif's condition, he said his son has since undergone chemotherapy thrice and has lost a lot of weight.

He said his wife, Nur Hidayah Md Zam, 39, was looking after their son at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) in Johor Bahru, while he took care of his other children and brought them to work with him as no one was at home to care for them.
