PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin have agreed to end a personal dispute between them involving two defamation suits at the High Court.
The Pakatan Harapan president and Muhyiddin have settled their dispute citing concern over the people’s welfare as a consideration for the settlement.
They also expressed their appreciation to the High Court and the court officials involved.
“We have also agreed to not issue further statements on the matter.
“We hope this decision will not be used as a tool to disrupt the nation's stability, the people’s wellbeing and also confidence in the judiciary,” they said in a statement.
New Straits Times reported an official spokesperson as saying the defamation suit was related to the dispute on the settlement of Felda's debts between the two and claims that Anwar was paid RM15mil while he was the economic adviser to Selangor. – The Vibes, June 14, 2021
