A fire broke out at the SkyAvenue Complex in Genting Highlands today.

Genting Malaysia Bhd said in a statement the fire broke out at about 4.30pm.

It said no other areas at the resort were affected. 

“Evacuation was carried out immediately to ensure members of the public were out of harm’s way.

“Our fire units responded promptly to extinguish the fire,” it said.

It said it would continue to monitor the situation. 

The Pahang fire and rescue department said an official statement will be issued later.

Social media users meanwhile have been sharing pictures and videos of the fire, and of people being evacuated from the area. – The Vibes, June 14, 2021
